Welcome to my new travel blog/diary/field notes – glad to have you! I’m Dove, and you can learn a little more about me and my upcoming plans on the About page. I decided to start this blog because I don’t really like social media ad platforms but I wanted to have a place to log my travels and share with friends and family. I had a similar blog when I was in the Peace Corps from 2008 – 2010, so I guess this is a rebirth. This time though, I thought I’d add a few features in case anyone else was considering a similar move to Mexico and wanted (yet another) opinion 🙂
I don’t have a clear cut idea of what this blog will end up consisting of, but you can expect lots of diving, lots of ukulele playing, some notes about yogurt, ramblings about theory, musings about culture, and hopefully some great stories and pictures.
While I won’t hit Mexico until October 25th, I’ll be adding some posts and videos from my recent trips to Costa Rica and Curacao, as well as my thoughts and process as I spend the next month preparing to leave.
If you know me, you know that I’ve been a world traveler all my life and have always wanted to live abroad. After my mother passed in January 2026, I realized life was too short to keep waiting, so…off I go! Strap in and come along for the ride!
